My photo project explores the vivid and often humorous expressions of Catholicism found at the San Jose Flea Market. Religious statues, artwork, and attire stand out as a defining part of the market’s visual culture—an unsurprising presence given that many of the vendors and shoppers are of Mexican heritage, where Catholicism remains deeply rooted. Through these photographs, I document the ways faith appears in everyday commerce—sometimes reverent, sometimes playful, but always woven into the fabric of life.
